Huck Seed - Professional Poker Player

Huck Seed - WSOP Winner

Updated 2008/2009
One of the most mysterious personalities amongst famous poker professionals today is Huck Seed. Not much information is available about this Poker player. Whatever little knowledge there is about him is enough to get impressed by this great man. He has a huge built and that makes him visible even in a crowd of hundreds. People may not know him personally, but it is easy to spot him since he is 6’7” (2.01m) but his height isn’t what sets him as a deadly poker player. He is one of those very few people on this earth who have a blank face. When he talks, people feel as if they are talking to a rock. One can note that pushing an 18 wheeler is much easier than drawing him into a conversation. A thorough professional, he takes his game very seriously.

All his success in the game of Poker proves that he has never been a loose player. Anyone would be surprised to know that his prize money totals to be more than four million dollars and he has four WSOP bracelets to his name till date. Apart from being a poker player, he also found proposition gambling to be very interesting. The bet Huck had with Phil Hellmuth is historical. Seed bet $10,000 saying that if he was given a wet suit, he could float on any water body. He won the money back though he lost the wager as he beat Hellmuth at 9-ball billiards. When that was over, Seed walked away with $24,000.00, at $2000.00 a game.

Seed confronted Van Horn in finals at the WSOP held in 1996. Seed got 8 9 of diamonds and had suited connectors while Horn got K 8 of clubs. Seed called as Horn raised Pre-flop. The flop came out to be 9h 8h 4c. By this time Horn has flopped one pair and Seed two. Horn raised him all in as Seed bet. Seed called again waiting for the two final cards as they flipped the cards over. Horn got a flush draw and 12 chances to stay in the game as the ace of clubs was on the table. The river came in with 3 of spades. Seed won the game and the WSOP. This is because he played the game with his wits, picked up his spots, and did not get bogged down by all in raise which came in after the flop.

Seed has many fans and all of them wonder where he is these days. His fans have not seen him for a long time now, and they do not know whether he will return or not. This shows the mysterious persona of this great Poker Player. But things are bound to happen when he comes back. One, he will be easily noticed when he comes down for his game and takes his seat, two, he will take on all the chips, three, he won’t speak anything when he does it. Till date, he has won
