This book is excellent. It'll work best for those already familiar with the game--it's the absolute best second book any serious poker player should buy. It's lean and mean; every chapter (tip) is well explained and very practical. There may be plenty of other, larger, thicker books on Hold'em, but because of the size and practicality you will read this one through and through. Some have compalined in other reviews that Shulman's not an accomplished player. So what. I learned a lot of what I needed at the time in college from professors that were great teachers. Shulman writes a book that is very practical and easily understood. That in itself puts it far above most brainiac poker books. If you are an avid poker book reader and player you will find some very useful and profitable tips here. Not the greatest book on holdem but one of those reminder books that gets you thinking about the little things you did or didn't do the last time you played. I actually put a couple of the tips on index cards and set them next to the computer last time I played online. All in all a very helpful book and an easy read.
